Design Brief
Design a space of connection for Sydneysiders and Tourists, where multicultural, historical and environmental richness of Sydney enables meaningful, multi-faceted, lasting connections.
What is in common?

How do humans connect?
We found that humans form an emotional connection with each other by experiencing life, and sharing their experiences amongst each other.

Final Proposal
Blooming Sydney, an AR platform, accessed on public transportation that invites you to discover and upload the flowers of stories that make Sydney unique. When you view the public transport through your phone, a field of flowers, all unique to Sydney's flora, appear in front of you.
With each flower, hidden right behind a touch, is a story and an experience someone planted. Users can spend their time reading through everyone's experiences, or uploading their own.

AR Garden Experience
Designed by Me! (Software: SnapAR)
As a part of the presentation, we performed a live demonstration of what the interactive AR Garden experience could look like, built from scratch (thanks to many all nighters, cold coffees, and tears)
I created a 3d mesh (the black thing!) of the presentation room to ensure accuracy of asset placement (so the flowers aren't flying or on someone's head)

Next step? an interactive AR Garden Demo!
The faces are blurred as we did not take explicit permission from everyone to publicize the image, but I promise everyone is smiling.
Interactive AR Card
Designed by Me! (Software: Meta Spark Studio)
As a part of the presentation, we performed a live demonstration of what the interactive collectable cards (designed by Zane He and Yixuan Chen) would look like through the AR lens. Every card has a unique flower, which would pop out into a 3d bloom when viewed through the AR lens.
